On a beautiful July afternoon, Aida and John were married at Magnolia Lutheran Church.  I’ve been the photographer at several other weddings at this church, and it is a beautiful place for a wedding.

As is usually the case, the day began with the arrival of the bride, groom and the rest of the wedding party.  The plan was to take as many photos of the wedding party before the ceremony as possible to reduce the amount of photo-time afterwards, allowing Aida and John to get to the reception more quickly.  There were a few minor glitches along the way (which is pretty typical of most weddings) but we were able to get most of the key photos as planned.

As the guests arrived, Aida moved out of sight while John was greeting some of the guests. Once everyone was seated, the ceremony began.  Everything went smoothly, and a short time later John and Aida were announced to their family and friends as newlyweds.

We still had a few photos that needed to be taken, and the guests all headed off to the reception site while Aida and John got a few last photos and signed their marriage paperwork.  Then it was off to Golden Gardens for the reception.

The Bathhouse at Golden Gardens is a very nice location for a wedding reception, and I have also photographed numerous weddings and receptions there.  The afternoon was very sunny and quite warm and the park was very busy, but after talking with Adia and John we decided to take a few photos outdoors.  We spent about 15 minutes getting photos along the beach before the couple had enough of the heat and we moved back to the Bathhouse to rejoin the guests.

The reception went very well.  A good DJ who kept the music coming, and an excellent dinner kept everyone happy.
