I recently had the chance to take Ella’s high school Senior Photos. Ella is from an island in southern Alaska, and she and her mom found me online and hired me to take Ella’s Senior Photos while they were visiting in Seattle.
Ella and her family were not very familiar with possible locations for photos in the Seattle area. We talked about various options and decided to do the session at the Bellevue Botanical Garden, one of my favorite locations for this type of session. If you live in the Seattle area you know that we have had really crummy weather almost all this Spring. When we set up the date for the shoot Ella was still in Alaska and we really didn’t know what to expect for the date of the shoot, which was two weeks away.
But we got lucky and the Weather Gods smiled on us! The day of the session not only was the sun out, but the temperature was comfortable enough for Spring clothes. Granted, it was only in the mid-60s but after all the rain and cold it felt almost tropical.
I met Ella, her parents and her sister at the park in the early afternoon. Ella’s mom Kellie joined us on our hike through the park while dad and sister did their own exploring. The Garden is not a small place, and we moved pretty quickly so we could hit as many spots as possible during Ella’s session. I enjoyed talking with Ella about her life in a pretty remote part of Alaska, and what she wanted to do once she finished high school. While she liked where she lived, she was looking forward to getting away for college, and eventually moving to a bigger city.
