Five years ago in Summer 2016 I was the photographer at the wedding of Ashley and Justin at Jardin del Sol in Snohomish. It was a wonderful wedding and reception, and I really enjoyed working with Ashley and Justin both during the wedding, and then again as we worked on designing their wedding album. Several year later I got another call from them; they had a new baby daughter named Addison and wanted me to do newborn photos. I was delighted to oblige, and you can see the results by clicking on my newborn session with Addison.
Now Ashley called to tell me that she was pregnant with baby #2, and was due in about a month. She and Justin wanted to do a combination family/maternity session. We talked over the possibilities and decided to do the session at the Kubota Garden, one of my favorite photo locations in the Seattle area.
The day of the shoot the weather was just about perfect; warm but not hot, and mostly overcast. So nobody was going to get sweaty, and much easier to take photos without the crazy brights and darks that you get shooting on a sunny day.
I’ll keep the story short. The session went about as perfectly as is possible when one of the participants is a not quite two year old! Addison did her best to take over the session, but proved to be a very good subject once I started letting her see the photos as I was taking them. We made our way around pretty much the entire park, and Kubota is not a small place. We lucked out and did not have as many photo bombers as I had feared we might encounter on a nice Spring Saturday
Coming soon, the newborn photos of Baby Elizabeth!
