When Michelle and James contacted me last spring about photographing their wedding, they told me that they were planning to have a quick wedding at the Seattle municipal court building, followed a couple of weeks later with a large party/reception on the roof of their apartment building for all of their family and friends. I have done numerous weddings at the Seattle Courthouse, and mentioned that they should be sure to ask about getting married on the roof of the building, rather than in the judges chambers, if the weather was cooperative. The view from the roof is fantastic, and it is a great place for a small wedding.
The day of the wedding the weather was near perfect, sunny and warm. Michelle told her that she would like to have the ceremony on the roof, and we all climbed into the elevator and headed up.
After the ceremony I took Michelle and James to the Seattle waterfront for some more photos. We visited the Bell Harbor Conference Center, where it is possible to take pictures from the rooftop with the Seattle skyline as the backdrop in one direction, and Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains in the other. Following are a few photos from the day.
