Bellevue family portrait session at Chism Beach park

This was a session that took awhile to make happen.  I was the photographer at Jessie and David’s wedding just over 2 years ago, in July 2012.  About 6 months ago I got an email from Jessie, telling me that she and David had had a new daughter Sophie who was now 3 months old, and wanting to know when they should schedule their first-baby session (which I give free to every couple whose wedding I photograph).  I suggested that they wait until late summer, when Sophie would be more active and mobile.  Well, we tried a couple of times to make an appointment as the summer went on, but our schedules just didn’t mesh.  Finally just a few days ago we were able to meet at Chism Beach Park in Bellevue (where I had taken Jessie and David’s engagement photos) and on a beautiful September day we spent about an hour just walking around the park and getting photos of the three of them.  Sophie, now 10 months old, was a wonderful model, and smiled and laughed throughout the session.

I look forward to seeing the whole family again next year for another photo session, it will be a lot of fun to help record Sophie as she grows.  Though she may be a bit harder to keep in focus next time, I suspect she is NOT going to be a baby who just sits still for pictures!
