This wedding was a little unusual in the Shayna and Charles are from Southlake Texas, but decided that they wanted to get married in the Seattle area. OK, I may be a bit prejudiced but I have a feeling that Seattle is a more picturesque location for a wedding than Texas, especially if you choose an amazing venue like the Salish Lodge for your ceremony and reception. But to be fair I do have to admit that my time in Texas is quite limited, so maybe things there are much different than I imagine.
I first heard from Shayna in the early winter, when she was busy looking for a photographer for their wedding. Once she and Charles decided that they wanted to book me to photograph their wedding we spent a lot of time discussing possible venues in the Seattle area. I have been the photographer at numerous weddings at the Salish (which is an amazing place to have a wedding!), and when Shayna mentioned that it was high on their list I enthusiastically endorsed the idea.
Charles and Shayna came to Seattle in April to visit the Salish in person, and while they were in town we arranged to have an engagement photo session at the Bellevue Botanical Garden; you can see those photos by clicking on this link. It was really nice to get to know them in person before the ceremony, and it gave them a chance to confirm their decision to have the wedding at the Salish.
The wedding took place on July 8, 2018 and you can see my original blog post (with a lot of photos) by clicking on this link – Shayna and Charles get married at the Salish Lodge.
I’m not going to do a recap of the wedding here since I already did that in my earlier post of their wedding, and I hope that you’ll have a chance to check out both the engagement session and the wedding.
