It was just a year ago that I had the pleasure of being the photographer at the wedding of Angie and David, held at Willows Lodge in Woodinville. This was a fantastic wedding. Willows Lodge is a wonderful venue for a wedding, and we lucked out with a gorgeous late-springtime day which made the conditions for an outdoor ceremony about as perfect as you could ask for.
David is originally from Mexico, and his family made the trip to Seattle for the wedding. This gave me a chance to try to practice my once-decent command of Spanish; sadly I discovered that while I could still understand most of a conversation I have mostly lost my Spanish vocabulary. But it was still fun talking with David’s Mexican relatives and friends.
I had also worked with David and Angie a few months previously on their engagement photos, which we did at the Seattle Center and Kerry Park. We had a great time during this session, so I was sure that it was going to be a fun time working with them at the wedding as well. And as it turned out I was completely correct.
So congratulations to Angie and David for making it through their first year of marriage, which I believe means that they no longer qualify to be referred to as “newlyweds”. I’m looking forward to working with them again when they are ready for some family photos!
