I have been waiting to get the OK from Jeremy and Danny to get these photos up onto my blog for a couple weeks now. They wanted me to wait until they had the chance to tell their families that they had done a surprise elopement at the King County Courthouse, and were now legally married. And having their families find out by having someone tel them they had just seen the wedding photos on Facebook did not sound like the way they wanted to break the good news to everyone! But I have now been told that the news is officially out, and I can finally share some of the photos from our session that day. All of these photos were taken shortly after the ceremony; I was not actually present during the ceremony but met the newlyweds immediately afterwards at the Courthouse building.
We started out taking photos in the Courthouse lobby, which meant trying to avoid unintentional photo-bombers, who kept managing to sneak into the pictures. We actually were quite lucky, and were able to get some good shots there. Then we moved out onto the street, and up to the plaza of the Seattle City Hall building. We lucked out with a nice cool morning, with just enough overcast to keep Jeremy and Dan from squinting as I had them try a variety of poses. The plaza at City Hall was very quiet that morning, and we mostly had the whole thing to ourselves so we worked as many different ideas as we could come up with.
It was a pleasure to work with Dan and Jeremy. They are clearly deeply in love, and I wish them the best in their life together and hope that we are able to work together again in the future.
