Seattle Christmas Family/Engagement Combo Photos with Jennifer and Jay

A week before Christmas I was finally able to schedule an engagement session with Jennifer and Jay that should have taken place a year earlier.  I first heard from Jennifer in May 2021, asking about my availability to photograph their wedding in March 2022.  Well, due to Covid that didn’t happen and it also caused Jay and Jennifer to put off their engagement photo session.  Because Jennifer and Jay have a couple of kids (Olivia and Emmett) plus one on the way (Jenny was ~seven months pregnant at the time of this session) it complicated things somewhat; certainly don’t want to plan a photo session right at a one-year-old’s nap time!

But with persistence we were finally able to make things happen.  We met a week before Christmas 2022 at a location where Jen had been told there were indoor photo possibilities, which in mid-December can be kind of important in cold and wet Seattle!  But when we arrived we discovered that while there was an indoor option, it was unheated and very poorly lit and actually flet colder than being outside!  The weather was dry so we just decided to work with what we had and make the most of it.

It turned out to be a very fun session.  Both of the kids did great, though Emmett had just finished a nap and took awhile to really wake up.  But once he was wide awake he was a very happy little boy and did a wonderful job with his photos.
